One Step at a Time

Feelings of uncertainty?

Have you ever felt nervous about the next season of life? Have you ever found yourself asking, “What’s next, God?”

Before I went to Honduras, I attended language school in Costa Rica. It was an amazing experience, and I had the opportunity to meet some incredible missionaries. They quickly became like family.

In August 2024, I finished eight months of language school. Was I bilingual? Absolutely not! But my Spanish had improved so much, and I gained so much more than just a language during those eight months.

As I thought about my next season, I was very nervous. I didn’t know anyone in Honduras, and I knew I would be starting over. I knew this was where God was leading me, but that didn’t make it any less nerve-racking.

The weekend before we all left Costa Rica and headed to our assignments, we went to the beach. While we were there, we found a beautiful, hidden beach that you had to climb over a wall to get to.

On the way back, one of the missionaries said they had found another way back, but we would have to walk a little farther. So, we began our walk.

The path was covered in rocks. Thankfully, everyone had shoes on. Well… everyone except me for very long! At the beginning of the walk, my shoe broke.

I have very sensitive feet, so walking over all those rocks was painful. I looked up at the path ahead of me and thought, “Oh wow, I still have a long way to go.”

Then I looked down and thought, “Okay. One step at a time.”

In that moment, I felt the Lord speak to my heart: “Angie, that’s what I need from you: one step at a time.”

It was such a powerful moment with the Lord. Whenever I feel uncertain about what’s ahead, I think back to that moment and remember how good and kind He is.

So, what’s next for me?

Following Jesus and going wherever He leads me.

I’m the type of person who needs a plan and a schedule. But walking by faith sometimes means entering a season of uncertainty and trusting God with the next step.

God is SO good!

He is faithful, and I’m so honored to serve Him. I can’t wait to get to Costa Rica and see what God has in store for Alcance, as well as for the future pastors and missionaries of Costa Rica.

Financial update

I’m currently 61% funded, and I need to reach 100% before I can go to Costa Rica!

I’m looking for monthly partners who would prayerfully consider joining me in the mission in Costa Rica. If God puts it on your heart to give, instructions are below.

When you partner with me, you aren’t just supporting me—you’re partnering with the ministry and the mission in Costa Rica. I need a total of $1,800 in monthly support before I can fly out, and my goal is to leave this fall!

Thank you so much for your prayers, financial support, and encouragement along the way. I’m so grateful for everyone who has already joined me in this journey. I truly couldn’t do this without you!
